Sweeten Up Your Day with Triple Berry Jam Thumbprint Cookies

Ingredients: 

  • 2/3 cup Mushed by YOU Triple Berry Jam: The sweet and tangy berry goodness that brings these cookies to life.
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour: The foundation for your cookie dough.
  • 1 cup butter (room temperature): Provides that rich, soft texture.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar: Used in both the dough and for rolling the cookies.
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar: Adds a slight caramelized depth to the flavour.
  • 1 large egg yolk: Helps bind the dough and adds richness.
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract: For a subtle, warm flavour.

  • Directions: 

    1. Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of room-temperature butter with 3 tbsp of brown sugar and 1/2 cup of granulated sugar. Cream the ingredients together until smooth and fluffy.

    2. Add Egg Yolk and Vanilla: Mix in the egg yolk and vanilla extract, continuing to beat until everything is well-combined and the mixture looks creamy.

    3. Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Slowly add the 2 1/4 cups of flour to the wet mixture. Mix at a low speed or by hand until the dough forms. It should be soft but not sticky.

    4. Shape the Dough: Roll the dough into small balls, roughly the size of a tablespoon. Roll each ball in the remaining 1/2 cup of granulated sugar to give them a crisp exterior.

    5. Create Indentations: Place the dough balls onto a lined baking sheet. Using your thumb, press an indentation into the center of each ball. This is where the magic happens!
