At YOU’s Woodshop, youth gain hands-on training in woodworking while creating beautifully crafted products in London, Ontario. With guidance from skilled mentors, they make furniture, kitchenware, cabinetry, and custom pieces that combine design, function, and real community impact.

Shop Capabilities

Our woodshop features a Homag Centateq N-300 Nested-based CNC Machining Center, allowing us to create precise and repeatable products efficiently.

Youth Skills Training

All youth participants in our 6-week program receive hands-on woodworking and CNC training, learning:

• CNC programming with WoodWop software

• Blueprint reading and translating 2D plans into 3D products

• Tooling, feeds, and speeds for different materials

• Vacuum table and nesting strategies for maximum material use

• Precision measuring with calipers and other tools

• Preventative maintenance to care for machinery

Youth gain real-world experience from raw material to finished product, building confidence and valuable workplace skills.
